Water distribution in San Juan Bautista Axalpan, Tehuacán, México, 18th century
Abstract
En este trabajo se hace un análisis de los problemas que surgieron
entre los naturales de San Juan Bautista Axalpan y las haciendas
de la Santísima Trinidad, San José Buenavista y La Huerta,
en torno al agua de la barranca de Chalma, debido a que
hubo un abuso del agua por parte de los españoles, los que fueron
denunciados por los naturales. A pesar de que en los litigios
se fallara en favor de los naturales, los hacendados volvían a
usurpar el agua, lo que provocó que estos procesos fueran muy
largos y costosos para la comunidad indígena.
