Abstract

The article addresses the migration of adolescents in San
Mateo Ozolco, to pinpoint, based on the theory of migrant
personality, why some teenagers migrate and others do not,
under the same conditions of migration and poverty. For this
purpose, the components of this theory are analyzed, and the
results indicate that a differentiation can be made through it,
between those who wish to migrate and those who do not, since
it includes internal aspects such as personality and motivation
for achievement, power and affiliation, as well as situational
aspects such as poverty and migration. Likewise, it presents
a structure that integrates different theoretical aspects of the
issue, in addition to the contributions by studies of adolescent
migration, regarding variables of motivation to join the family,
values, expectations and poverty, among others.
